The 10th annual COLUMBUS DAY OPEN is a USTA Level 2 National event held October 10 – 12, 2026, and consists of over 128 of the best juniors in the country, competing in the Boys’ & Girls’ 14s and 16s age divisions. WEATHER. In the event of rain or lightning delays, players should return to their car. Updates will be communicated via the USTA Registration website Overview/Notes section – we WILL NOT change the times on the draw during the day (only @ night).
DOUBLES – IMPORTANT
The doubles deadline is Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026 @ 5pm… Even if you registered with a partner online, you MUST still re-register by emailing the doubles pairing to [email protected].
If you have a partner, both players must agree to play with each other, please email the team (and division) to Elad Yair at [email protected] (make sure to get a confirmation email).
- If we do not hear from you before the deadline date, we will NOT place you in the doubles draw. If you do not have a partner, and would like to be paired with another player, please email [email protected] (make sure you receive an email confirmation)– we will do our best to pair you with another player (with a similar ranking).
- Format: 16-team single-elimination draw with 3rd/4th playoff; consisting of an 8 game pro-set with 7 point tiebreak at 8 games all, no ad scoring
- IMPORTANT: Doubles take place BEFORE their singles matches on Day 1 and possibly Days 2-3. Make sure to double-check your start times and site abbreviations. In addition, a player can only play doubles in the same division as they are playing singles.

CLUB RULES: IMPORTANT
- Talking on cell phones is NOT permitted at the Facility, including, but not limited to all dining facilities including indoor and outdoor service areas, fitness facilities, pool, golf courses, golf practice range, locker rooms, tennis facilities, and administration offices, except for emergency situations.
- MUST remain in SILENT mode while at the Facilities. All persons should step outside to make and answer phone calls.
- Smoking and the use of electronic cigarettes are not permitted in indoor areas, in any of the outdoor dining areas including all dining area patios, fire pit areas, on the pool deck, on the tennis courts, under the spectator canopies, at the Sports Complex, on the driving range and practice facilities.
- Smoking and the use of electronic cigarettes are not permitted within 10 feet of any Facility entrance or under the Porte cochere by valet.
- Dogs or other pets (with the exception of service and emotional support animals) are not permitted anywhere on the Facilities property or any surrounding area.
- Proper tennis shoes for clay courts are required.

EVENT INFO & FORMAT
MATCH SITES: Held at multiple facilities. PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO THE SITE THAT YOU COMPETE AT (check the initials on the draws) & check in 20 minutes before your match time. SURFACE. Clay BALL. Wilson Regular Duty EVENT INFO.
- Officiating: One roving official per every four courts. Chaired matches from the Semifinals for Singles and finals for Singles and Doubles.
DRAWS. Singles (32-draw), Doubles (16-team). Singles and doubles draws/times will be posted online on Wednesday prior to the event @ 6pm. Remember to check doubles draws, as all divisions will play the doubles 1st round before singles matches take place.

WILDCARD INFO.: There are no Wildcards for this event.
SINGLES FORMAT:
- 32 FIC-16 with Quarterfinal and 3rd/4th Playoffs; two tiebreak sets with a 10-point match tiebreak at one set all, regular scoring
- If a match splits sets, there is a 3-minute rest period where players may only receive coaching from inside the fence, with the coach on the outside of the fence.
- Match formats are subject to change when weather issues affect match play.
MATCH SCHEDULE (weather pending, sample below):
*Day 1: Two Main Draw Singles, one consolation singles, one-two doubles (1st round doubles takes place before 1st round singles)
*Day 2: Two Main Draw Singles, two consolation singles, Quarterfinal Playoff consolation, one-two doubles (some divisions might play doubles before their singles)
*Day 3: Finals & 3/4 Playoff (Main Draw), two consolation singles, Quarterfinal Playoff consolation, doubles (Finals & 3/4 Playoff)
Maximum matches per day: Four matches per day as long as two of four matches are doubles… Exception: Three singles matches may be played in special circumstances (ie weather).
REST PERIOD BETWEEN MATCHES.
*For matches consisting of a 10-point match tiebreak for the 3rd set, players get a minimum of 1 hour rest.
*Doubles to singles, players get 30 minutes rest.
*Doubles to doubles, players get 45 minutes rest.
ATHLETIC TRAINERS will be based at the sites.

HITTING LESSONS: Call match sites or Delray Beach Tennis Center (201 West Atlantic Ave., Delray Beach; 561-243-7360).

ALTERNATE PROCEDURE.
- Ordered based on the NSL list that was used for selection (posted online)
- Players must check-in with the Site Director and be prepared to play no later than 15 minutes prior to the first scheduled match of the event in which they are an alternate.
- Players that are defaulted because of lateness, will be replaced in the draw if an on-site alternate is checked in and available to play.
- On-site Alternates may be admitted into the singles (or doubles) main draw to replace withdrawing players of players matches.
- Late entries shall be placed on the alternate list in the order received after timely entries. Late entries received at the same time shall be ordered by lot
